FINAL ROUND OF THE NATIONAL PARTS CANADA AND THE WCC
A positive weekend overall but not without complications for racer Genevieve Lesieur, competing in the final round of the Parts Canada National Championship at Shannonville. During practice sessions on Thursday, mechanical problems forced her to leave her "A" bike in the paddock: "We don’t have enough track time to find and solve the problem, so we decided to switch to my other bike, which was unfortunately much less powerful, and had a wet weather suspension setup. Also, we had no data on settings for that bike on this track, so it was difficult to get lap times into the desired range on Friday. "
For qualifying on Saturday, Lesieur decided to skip the National Parts Canada Pro Sportbike class qualifier: "The experience is not lost since each session spent on track with other pro class racers makes me learn something". Lesieur instead took part in the women's cup championship qualifier, hoping to benefit from the extra track time. She earned the pole position in qualifying, and finished 2nd overall in the race in front of a Shannonville crowd at close to full capacity: "I managed to get my lap times into the 1.09s, which was excellent, but did not beat my personal best set earlier this season with my "A" bike. The difference in power and suspension which was too soft under braking made it difficult to stay on the pace, the conditions were not on my side. Despite that I was still pretty satisfied with my result at the finish line, although we always want to win!"
Genevieve wishes to warmly thank Pat, Sean Huffman and Sophie, Pascal Picotte and his team, Laval Moto, Sport Patoine, Suzuki Canada and all its sponsors. Follow the raceer on her website: genevievelesieur.com

Parts Canada + LÉdenon (France),
Lesieur pursues her dreams overseas
On July 18 and 19 , Genevieve Lesieur finished 2nd and 3rd in the Women's Cup Women's Challenge Championship that took place at Mosport in Ontario. Although she had some technical problems in both races, she was satisfied: "We detected an oil leak caused by a small crack on the engine cover. I felt the bike sliding during the race, which is not very reassuring on this high speed track! I got very cautious until the end, I count myself lucky that I didn’t crash! "
This issue forbid the pilot to participate in the 5th round of the Parts Canada National Pro600 championship held right after the women's events: "We did not have enough time to fix it. It was more prudent not to race." Great disappointment for the lady who had achieved 01:28,02 laptime during the Saturday race in Pro600 to finish in 29th place: "I felt more at ease on the track and I was convinced to be able to improve my laptimes, especially with my GSXR600 Chainé performance who was at the top of her shape" - she said while still very excited to return next year on her favorite track.
Genevieve is about to live a new experience starting July 31 she will fly to the southern France where she has been invited to perform tests at the Lédenon circuit. She will get the opportunity to ride with experienced pilots, like Olivier Lamy who will be there to accompany her on the track. Located 15 km from Nîmes, this circuit is one of the most technical circuits of France. For Geneviève, who has always dreamed to race in Europe, it is a golden opportunity to perfect her art: "Olivier is an excellent pilot and he will teach me tips that will help me on track. As I am in a learning year, it is the right time! "Said the pilot who could not contain her joy.
Geneviève wishes to thank all her sponsors and Yanick Chainé, Patrice Cantin, Sean Huffman, Kathou, Mathieu, Stéphane, Christian, LN for their unwavering support during the events of Mosport.

Mirabel rEgional + Parts Canada + Womens Cup Challenge
On May 31, Geneviève Lesieur went to the Icar circuit of Mirabel to take part in a regional race where she earned the 5th place in Pro600: "I used this opportunity to learn the circuit for the National Championship round the next following week at the same place. "
Icar actually received the Parts Canada National Championships, june 11 to 14, a premier for the circuit!
Lesieur, inconvenienced by a shoulder injury, had to be content with her participation in the women race: "Although I managed to achieve reasonable laptime, they were not representative of what I am able. It is a sport that requires our full concentration and
mistakes can have serious consequences. The track is narrow, technical and physical, in my opinion it was the best choice in those circumstances. The experience was of course beneficial to my development and it is certain that I intend to make a comeback on
this circuit next year! " Said the pilot who always remains positive and enthusiastic.
During the women race, Lesieur who led the race in the first few laps finished with a 2nd place on the podium: "What a race, we had lots of fun! I made some mistakes in the first few laps and I had to work hard to catch up the time I lost. It was fantastic to make a podium at home! "
Geneviève wishes to thank all the fans who turned out in large number to make this event a great success. She thanked also her sponsors, Pat, and Jimmy, Kareen, Yan and Isa, Sean Huffman, MichelO, Marc-André and the Suzuki Staff, Pascal Picotte and his team.

R.A.C.E. Round # 2, Shannonville (Ont.)
+ PARTS CANADA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP, ROuND # 1,
CALABOGIE (ONT.)
On may 17th, in Shannonville, Geneviève Lesieur took part in the 2nd round of the Regional Championship at Shannonville Motorsports Park in Ontario. She obtains a beautiful 9th place in Pro 600, giving her access to the top 10 in the season standings.
Following this, the pilot heads to Calabogie, near Ottawa, to participate in the first round of the Parts Canada National Championship. After a tough beginning trying to set up the adjustments on the bike, she finished in 21st place in the race Yoshimura Pro Sport Bike: "It was my first experience in this championship as a pro rider and I was very intimidated ... Participate in the regional's is one thing, a national is an other. I need a time to adapt, but it is clear that riding with those experiences pilots
will be beneficial and WOW, what a trill! " She told us.
At the last minute, Lesieur decides to join the Womens Cup Challenge race. By not qualifying she had to start from the back of the grid: "The race was just ahead of Pro which I had to take part and I felt that it could be an excellent practice. With a rocket start, the pilot got in the lead pack at the first turn and then made her way, exceeded prudently, to first place. Unfortunately, at her arrival in the pits, a surprise awaited her: "I took the decision so quickly that we had not fitted the bike with the approved tires for this category. It's so new to me to ride with other tires in the other categories that we missed this one! My team members have noticed the error during the race and when I arrived, we quickly mention it. She got disqualified: "Disappointed? Not at all. I do not participate in the championship; it was therefore not points accounted for a championship. In addition to beat my personal record, I gave a good show and I had fun, which is the most important! "
Personal note from the pilot: "I want to thank all the people and WCC pilots who came to congratulate me despite my disqualification. This shows a good sportsmanship ... These words are much more than a trophy to me! Thank you to my sponsors, thank you for their assistance and advice to Pat and Dave, Alain Lefebvre and SuperGillus, Benoit Pilon and Pascal Picotte and all persons who came by to encourage us! "
Upcoming events: May 31 at Mirabel for the first round of
Regional Trackfever ... A regional in Quebec, come in large numbers to support us!

R.A.C.E. Round # 1, Shannonville, Ontario
Geneviève Lesieur had the opportunity last weekend to participate in her first regional race as a professional. Friday practices went well and she took assurance and speed throughout the weekend.
Starting from the first row in qualifications, a few corners later, she unfortunately had to stop along the track after being hit by another racer. The usual verifications done, she got back on the track in pursuit of the other racers, but she lost precious seconds that relegated her to the last rows of the starting grid for the race: "Starting from the first row was a great opportunity to gain experience, when I have the chance to follow someone with a faster pace than mine, learning gets very exciting, so this was a huge disappointment! I'm on the track to stay, so get use to it!". Said the pilot who does not seem intimidated by that kind of situation.
Disappointed not to have tasted the real racing experience, she decided to register in the Superbike category, which includes the more powerful engines: "I was not supposed to race in this category, but early in the season, this experience could only be beneficial, as I am learning, the best thing is to be as often as possible on the track with these racers. In conclusion, Geneviève is back on a very positive note, having reached her first goal of the season, beating all her personal lap times, mission accomplished on this track.
She finished 10th in the Pro600 race after making a spectacular slide, and 17th in Superbike.
Geneviève wishes to thank her team for her support and all her sponsors: "Thanks to Chainé performance, Yanick, Patrice, Isabelle, Karl, Gilles, Kareen and Jimmy. Thanks also to all the people who came to see me and for all Internet messages received, your encouragement makes all the difference! "

On track training for Geneviève Lesieur at Shannonville (ON)
On April 18 and 19, Geneviève Lesieur took part in her first on track tests as a professional, showing her new colors at the same time. She used the opportunity to share her impressions: "In the first practice, I was a little nervous, "that's the big game," as we say! We spent most of the time testing my suspensions and on Sunday I had already acquired a good confidence level. I will have an adaptation period, but after only two days riding with these experienced pilots, I can already say that I will have a great evolution! "
Lesieur said she is privileged to ride at this level and benefit for a 5th consecutive year of the essential collaboration of CHAINÉ PERFORMANCE who ensures the preparation and maintenance of her three GSX-R, and in addition, provide trackside support. Geneviève is also proud to represent once again SUZUKI CANADA, SPORT PATOINE and LAVAL MOTO as major partners, and Motovan, Zox, Joe Rocket, Taz Grafix, Hipertech, Sato Racing GPR stabilizer, Galfer, Pirelli, Hardgym, Univers Gym fitness, Castor Bleu, Télémag Québec and Tamadeo technologies.

A DAY AT THE WHEELIE SCHOOL
The 2009 racing season is approaching fast and this is next weekend that Geneviève Lesieur will begin her first tests days as a professional racer at Shannonville Ontario.
She benefited from the previous weekend to try the "Wheelie School" (wheelieschool.ca), held at Sanair. This school allows to learn the “wheelies” techniques in a safe and control environment, with professional instructors and appropriate motorcycles for the exercise, here’s Genevieve impressions: "As I did not grow up surrounded by bikes and I started to ride on what is considered a "big engine", I sometimes need to revise techniques which are necessary for my development as a pilot. I consider my first year as a pro racer a learning or familiarization year, of course I want to give the best of myself and sometimes you need to "slow down" and take time to go back to basics in order to become faster. The school has greatly teach me few principles that I don’t want to try at 200km/h, furthermore, it makes me understood some subtleties of the behavior of a motorcycle. I loved my experience and it is certain that I will benefit from this learning, which will allow me to better manage situations that may overtake you in a race ... every experience is certainly a good addition to my knowledge as a pilot. "
The first race of the 2009 season will be held at Shannonville Ontario onMay 3 at the Regional R.A.C.E. Geneviève is thanking Felix and Philippe from the Wheelie School for their professionalism and patience. Thank you also to Kareen.
